It was a love fest of Pepperdine proportion.

More than 420 jubilant fans gathered October 27 at the Beverly Hills Hotel to honor School of Public Policy Founding Dean James R. Wilburn. Well into the evening—following dinner, a video tribute, and many praise-filled toasts—the man of the hour ascended the stage to share what 40 years at the University have meant to him.

The evening closed with special toasts from alumnus Tom Kemp, Jr. (’83), and alumna Tari Rokus (’76), and then many in the crowd surrounded Jim on the dance floor as the Blue Breeze Band serenaded the party well into the evening.
